GUILLAUME CUNY
Guillaume Cuny is a doctoral student in visual and film sociology at the Pierre Naville Center and a documentary filmmaker. He is currently completing a thesis and a documentary film on the orientation of young women from working-class backgrounds in a professional sector preparing for careers in care and support. His research themes articulate questions of education with those of gender and class.
On the production side, he made Papier poésie, a 52-minute documentary broadcast on France 3 Grand-Est, and is currently working on a documentary project called “La motivation” which creates a dialogue between the speeches of employers and young employees in so-called “low-skilled” professions.
Guillaume Cuny regularly speaks at conferences that combine research and creation on the tensions inherent in the intersection of these practices. He currently teaches courses at the Department of Educational Sciences at Nantes University and leads production workshops for young people with learning difficulties.
